Step 1
Heat oven to 375°F.
Step 2
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Beat butter and 1-1/2 cups sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
Step 3
Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray; top with apples. Mix remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
Step 4
Bake 35 to 40 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean.
