2 lb. (900 g) fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
1/4 cup water
3 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1 cup Cracker Barrel Shredded Double Cheddar Cheese
1 Tbsp. orange zest

Step 1
Place asparagus in shallow microwaveable casserole dish. Add water. Microwave on HIGH 4 to 5 min. or until asparagus is crisp-tender.
Step 2
Meanwhile, melt butter in medium saucepan on medium heat. Whisk in flour. Gradually add milk, mixing well after each addition. Cook 2 to 3 min. or until thickened, stirring frequently. Add cheese; cook and stir 2 to 3 min. or until cheese is completely melted and sauce is well blended. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Drain asparagus; place on plate. Top with cheese sauce; sprinkle with orange zest.
