1/2 cup Diana Sauce Gourmet Original BBQ Sauce
1 can (355 mL) lager-style beer, divided
2 tsp. lemon zest, divided
1/3 cup Diana Marinade Steak Spice
2 Tbsp. each finely chopped fresh basil and parsley
1 green onion, finely chopped
1 whole chicken (4 lb./1.8 kg)
1/4 tsp. pepper

Step 1
Heat barbecue to medium-high heat.
Step 2
Mix barbecue sauce, 1/4 cup beer and half the lemon zest until blended. Reserve remaining beer (still in can) for later use.
Step 3
Mix marinade, fresh herbs, onions and remaining lemon zest until blended; rub evenly over chicken. Sprinkle with pepper.
Step 4
Stack 2 disposable foil pans; place beer can in centre of pans. Stand chicken, tail end down, over beer can. Place on barbecue grate.
Step 5
Grill 1 hour or until chicken is done (165ºF), brushing frequently with barbecue sauce mixture for the last 30 min. Remove from barbecue. Let stand 5 min. before carving and serving.Discard remaining beer in can.
