4 oz. Baker's Unsweetened Chocolate
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups sugar
8 large egg whites
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan. Grease foil.
Step 2
Microwave chocolate in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add oil, applesauce and vanilla; mix well. Stir in sugar. Add egg whites; stir until well blended. Add flour and pecans; mix well. Spread batter into prepared pan.
Step 3
Bake 25 min. or until brownies start to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely. Remove brownies from pan using foil handles.

Makeover - How We Did It
We took our classic brownie recipe and made it over. We reduced the fat by replacing the eggs with egg whites, decreased the amount of nuts and used a combination of applesauce and oil to replace the butter. You'll save 50 calories and 5 grams of fat, including 4 grams of saturated fat per serving by making these changes!
