Get baking for the holidays with our Chocolate Cherry Jewel Bars. Chunky with pieces of maraschino cherries, almonds and pecans, these hand-held dessert bars are drizzled with a chocolate glaze.

What do I need ?
Select All
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup packed brown sugar, divided
2/3 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup milk
1 pkg. (225 g) Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, divided
1 egg
3/4 cup each whole natural almonds & pecan halves
1 1/4 cups mixed green & red maraschino cherries, halved & patted dry

How do I make it ?

Step 1
MIX flour, 1/3 cup (75 mL) brown sugar & butter until crumbly. Press mixture into 13 x 9 in (33 x 22 cm) baking pan; bake 15 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
Step 2
HEAT milk & 6 squares chocolate over low heat, stirring until chocolate is melted & mixture is smooth; cool 5 minutes; spread over crust.
Step 3
BEAT egg & remaining sugar; add nuts & cherries. Spoon mixture over chocolate layer. Bake 25 minutes; cool. Cut into bars.
Step 4
MELT remaining chocolate & drizzle over bars. Store in refrigerator.

TIP
To drizzle chocolate, melt chocolate in microwave on MEDIUM power 1 to 2 minutes; spoon into small sturdy plastic bag. Using a toothpick, poke a hole into end of bag & squeeze out chocolate.
