2-1/2 cups flour
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Jell-O Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup icing sugar
1 tsp. peppermint extract
2 eggs
4 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup crushed candy canes

Step 1
Heat oven to 375ºF.
Step 2
Combine flour, dry pudding mix and baking soda. Beat butter, sugar and extract in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing after each addition until blended. Stir in chocolate and crushed candy.
Step 3
Drop tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto parchment-covered baking sheets.
Step 4
Bake 8 to 10 min. or until edges of cookies are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Cookie Mix in a Jar
For gift-giving, layer flour, dry pudding mix, baking soda, chocolate and crushed candy in jar; cover with lid. Add a bow along with the following preparation directions: "Beat 1 cup softened butter in large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add 2 eggs and 1 tsp. peppermint extract; mix well. Add contents of jar; beat until blended. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, on parchment-covered baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 min. or until edges of cookies are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 1 min. Remove to wire racks; cool completely."
