2-1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup plus 1 Tbsp. sugar, divided
1 Tbsp. Magic Baking Powder
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 egg
3/4 cup whipping cream
6 oz. (3/4 of 225-g pkg.) Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped

Step 1
Heat oven to 400°F.
Step 2
Combine flour, 1/3 cup sugar and baking powder in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 3
Whisk egg and cream in medium bowl until blended. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Stir in chopped chocolate.
Step 4
Knead dough on lightly floured surface until no longer sticky. Place on parchment-covered baking sheet; press into 10-inch round. Score top with sharp knife into 14 wedges. Sprinkle with remaining sugar.
Step 5
Bake 23 to 25 min. or until scones are golden brown. Cut into 14 wedges. Serve warm.
