Grease and flour 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside. Prepare cake batter and bake in prepared pan as directed on package. Cool 15 min. in pan; remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
Trim corners and sides from cake to resemble football shape. Reserve trimmings for snacking or another use.
Pour milk into medium bowl. Add dry pudding mix and sugar. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended. Gently stir in whipped topping; spread onto cake.
Use decorating gel to add the "laces" to the "football." Store in refrigerator.
Kraft Kitchen Tips!
Make sure cakes are completely cooled before frosting. A warm cake can cause the frosting to soften or melt.
Store cake trimmings in tightly covered container at room temperature. Cut into cubes, then layer with additional prepared frosting to make a quick-and-easy trifle.
