3 cups whole wheat penne pasta, uncooked
1 lb. (450 g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
1/2 lb. (225 g) thin fresh asparagus spears, trimmed, cut into 1-inch lengths
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 pkg. (250 g) Philadelphia Brick Cream Cheese, softened
2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
1 cup cherry tomatoes, cut in half
1 Tbsp. Kraft 100% Parmesan Shredded Cheese

Step 1
Cook penne as directed on package, omitting salt.
Step 2
Meanwhile, cook and stir chicken, asparagus and onions in large nonstick skillet on medium heat 7 to 8 min. or until chicken is done and asparagus is crisp-tender.
Step 3
Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water. Whisk cream cheese with Italian seasoning and 1/4 cup of the reserved cooking water until blended. Add to chicken mixture along with the pasta; cook and stir 3 min. Remove from heat.
Step 4
Add tomatoes; mix lightly. If desired, gradually add enough of the remaining reserved pasta cooking water until sauce is of desired consistency.
Step 5
Sprinkle with Parmesan.

Variation
Substitute 3/4 lb. (340 g) uncooked deveined peeled medium shrimp for the chicken, cooking the asparagus and onions 5 min. before adding the shrimp, then cooking an additional 2 to 3 min. or until shrimp turn pink. Add cream cheese mixture and drained cooked pasta, then continue as directed.
