1 pkg. (170 g) Baker's Bittersweet Chocolate, divided
3/4 cup butter
2-1/4 cups sugar, divided
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup toasted skinned hazelnuts, coarsely chopped, divided
1 Tbsp. corn starch
1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
4 egg whites

Step 1
Heat oven to 350°F.
Step 2
Chop 4 oz. chocolate; place in large microwaveable bowl. Add butter. Microwave on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Add 1-1/2 cups sugar; mix well. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and half the nuts.
Step 3
Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides; spray with cooking spray. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Step 4
Bake 18 min. Meanwhile, chop remaining chocolate; place in medium bowl. Add corn starch and remaining nuts; set aside. Beat egg whites in large bowl with mixer on high speed 2 min. or until frothy. Gradually beat in remaining sugar. Beat 7 to 8 min. or until soft peaks form. Gently stir in chocolate mixture.
Step 5
Spread meringue mixture onto brownie. Bake 20 to 23 min. or until meringue is crisp and lightly browned. Cool 10 min.
Step 6
Run knife around edges of pan to loosen brownie from sides of pan. Use foil handles to remove brownie from pan. Cool completely before cutting to serve.

How to Toast and Skin the Nuts
Heat oven to 350°F. Spread nuts onto rimmed baking sheet. Bake 10 to 15 min. or until golden brown. Cool completely. To remove the skins, place nuts in mesh bag. Hold the bag over the sink while rubbing the nuts. The skins will fall into the sink, leaving the skinned nuts in the bag.
