This chocolate and vanilla marble cake is eye-catching with its beautiful swirls of white and chocolate cake. It may look complicated, but it actually starts with a vanilla cake batter that has melted chocolate stirred into part of the batter. It’s moist and flavourful, and does not need a frosting.

1-1/4 cups sugar
1 cup butter, melted
5 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk
2 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
2 Tbsp. icing sugar

Step 1
Heat oven to 350º F.
Step 2
Beat sugar and butter in large mixing bowl with mixer 4 min. or until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
Step 3
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition. Pour half the batter into separate bowl. Add melted chocolate.
Step 4
Spoon batters alternately into 9x5-inch loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray; swirl gently with knife.
Step 5
Bake 1 hour 20 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 min.; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely. Dust with icing sugar just before serving.
