This easy-to-make Oven-Roasted Shredded Pork is baked at a low oven temperature for 6-1/2 hours resulting in fork tender meat that can easily be pulled into shreds. A savoury blend of seasonings, such as paprika, garlic powder, pepper and kosher salt, team up with the Heinz Yellow Mustard and Heinz Carolina Style Tangy Vinegar BBQ Sauce to give this Oven-Roasted Shredded Pork its irresistible flavour.

2 Tbsp. Heinz Yellow Mustard
1 boneless pork shoulder (4 lb./1.8 kg)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1/2 cup Heinz Carolina Style Tangy Vinegar BBQ Sauce, divided

Step 1
Heat oven to 250°F.
Step 2
Line roasting pan with foil; spray with cooking spray. Rub mustard evenly onto meat. Combine sugar and dry seasonings; sprinkle over meat, then rub into mustard. Place in prepared pan; cover.
Step 3
Roast meat 5 hours. Remove meat from pan; drain and discard liquid from pan. Return meat to pan. Reserve 1/4 cup barbecue sauce; brush remaining barbecue sauce onto meat.
Step 4
Increase oven temperature to 350°F. Roast meat, covered, 1-1/2 hours or until meat is done (160°F) and very tender. Remove from oven. Let stand 15 min.
Step 5
Trim and discard excess fat from meat. Pull meat into shreds with 2 forks. Serve topped with reserved barbecue sauce.

Make Ahead
This flavourful meat can be roasted ahead of time. Shred or chop the cooked meat, then freeze in desired-size portions in freezer-weight resealable plastic bags up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in freezer, then use as desired.

Serve the shredded pork in buns topped with your favourite coleslaw, in taco shells or wrapped in warmed tortillas topped with your favourite taco toppings, or added to your favourite hot soup.
