8 plum tomatoes, cut in half, seeded
1 onion, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
1/4 cup olive oil, divided
2 baguettes (400 g each), split
1 cup Heinz Chili Sauce
2 Tbsp. thinly sliced fresh basil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 piece (60 g) Parmesan cheese, cut into thin slices

Step 1
Heat barbecue to medium heat.
Step 2
Poke several holes in large sheet of heavy-duty foil; place on barbecue grate. Toss tomatoes and onions with 2 Tbsp. oil; spread onto foil sheet. Grill 5 min. or until tomatoes are slightly softened. Transfer tomatoes to cutting board. Turn onions; grill additional 5 min. or until softened. Transfer onions to cutting board along with the tomatoes.
Step 3
Add baguette halves, cut sides down, to barbecue; grill 1 to 2 min. or until lightly toasted. Remove from barbecue.
Step 4
Chop grilled vegetables; place in medium bowl. Combine chili sauce, basil, garlic and remaining oil. Add to vegetable mixture; mix lightly.
Step 5
Cut each baguette half into 4 pieces. Top with vegetable mixture and cheese just before serving.

This flavourful bruschetta mixture also tastes great served over grilled chicken breasts. Or combine hot cooked pasta and baby spinach, then toss with the prepared bruschetta.
