1 Tbsp. oil, divided
8 slices peameal bacon
1/4 cup Kraft Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce, divided
2 red peppers, cut into strips
1/2 cup slivered Spanish onions
2 Tbsp. Miracle Whip Original Spread
1 tsp. Heinz Dijon Mustard
4 whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted

Step 1
Heat 1-1/2 tsp. oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add bacon; cook 2 to 3 min. on each side or until lightly browned on both sides. Top evenly with 2 Tbsp. barbecue sauce; turn to evenly coat both sides of each bacon slice with sauce. Remove from heat; cover to keep warm.
Step 2
Heat remaining oil in small skillet on medium-high heat. Add vegetables; cook and stir 5 min. or until crisp-tender. Add remaining barbecue sauce; cook and stir 1 min. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Mix Miracle Whip and mustard until blended; spread onto bottom halves of buns. Cover with bacon, vegetable mixture and tops of buns.

Peameal bacon is made from cured boneless pork loin that is rolled in cornmeal before slicing. (Traditionally a pea meal was used instead of cornmeal, hence the name). Unlike regular sliced bacon, peameal bacon is not smoked. Originally hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, peameal bacon can be found in many grocery stores and supermarkets across the country. Toronto's St. Lawrence Market is a common tourist destination for their signature peameal bacon sandwiches.

Variation
Heat greased barbecue to medium heat. Grill peameal bacon slices 2 to 3 min. on each side or until heated through and grill marked on both sides. Top with barbecue sauce as directed. Cook vegetables in pan on a side burner, or in a grill basket, until crisp-tender. Meanwhile, toast buns, cut sides down, on barbecue 1 min. Spread buns with Miracle Whip mixture, then fill as directed.
