This from-scratch dessert is a delicious cross between cake and a cobbler and it’s as easy as pie to make. Just prepare the fruit filling right in the baking pan, then add the coconut- and chocolate-studded topping and bake until bubbly and golden brown. It’s the perfect way to use up summer berries and apples – just use whatever variety berries and baking apples you have. Celebrate the summer season with this deliciously easy layered dessert.

3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, sliced
4 cups raspberries
1 cup sugar, divided
1 tablespoon corn starch
1-1/2 cups flour
2-1/4 teaspoons Magic Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
2/3 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1/3 cup large flake rolled oats
3 egg yolks
1 cup milk
1/4 cup Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Step 1
Heat oven to 350°F.
Step 2
Toss fruit with 1/2 cup sugar in medium bowl. Let stand 5 min. Add corn starch; mix lightly. Spoon into 11x7-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.
Step 3
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in coconut and oats. Whisk egg yolks and milk until blended. Add to flour mixture; mix well. Pour over fruit mixture; sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Step 4
Bake 50 min. or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool slightly.
