3 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
2 carrots, peeled, chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2-1/2 cups 25%-less-sodium chicken broth
1 cup tomato purée (passata)
1 can (19 fl oz/540 mL) white kidney beans, rinsed
1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked

Step 1
Cook and stir bacon in medium saucepan until crisp; remove from pan. Drain on paper towels. Discard drippings from pan.
Step 2
Add dressing to pan along with vegetables and garlic; cook and stir on medium heat 3 min. or until onions are crisp-tender.
Step 3
Stir in broth and tomato puree; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 12 to 14 min. or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Add beans and macaroni; stir. Cover; cook 7 to 9 min. or until macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in bacon; top with cheese.
