Step 1
Heat barbecue to medium heat.
Step 2
Combine ketchup, sugar, vinegar and hot sauce.
Step 3
Mix meat, yellow onions, Worcestershire sauce and egg just until blended. Shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
Step 4
Grill 5 to 6 min. on each side or until done (160ºF), brushing frequently with ketchup mixture for the last 2 min. and adding buns, cut sides down, to the barbecue to toast for the last few minutes.
Step 5
Fill buns with lettuce, burgers, red onions and cheese.
