Step 1
Heat oil in large saucepan on medium heat. Add yellow onions and jalapeño peppers; cook 5 to 8 min. or until softened, stirring frequently. Add ginger and next 4 ingredients; cook and stir 2 min.
Step 2
Add rice, broth, tomato juice and ketchup; mix well. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 20 min. or until most the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Remove and discard cinnamon sticks and cloves. Let rice mixture stand 5 min. Sprinkle with green onions.
