5 hamburger buns, divided
1 lb. (450 g) extra-lean ground turkey
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. (1/2 of 24-g pkg.) taco seasoning mix
1 cup Cracker Barrel Shredded Double Cheddar Cheese, divided
1 red pepper, cut crosswise into 4 rings

Step 1
Heat greased grill pan on medium heat.
Step 2
Open 4 buns; place, cut sides down, on hot grill pan. Grill 1 to 2 min. or until lightly toasted.
Step 3
Meanwhile, process remaining bun in food processor until fine crumbs form; place in medium bowl. Add turkey, egg, taco seasoning and 1/2 cup cheese; mix just until blended. Shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
Step 4
Remove toasted buns from grill pan; set aside. Add turkey patties and peppers to pan. Grill 8 to 10 min. or until burgers are done (160°F) and peppers are softened, turning burgers after 5 min. and stirring peppers occasionally.
Step 5
Top burgers with remaining cheese; grill 1 min. or until melted.
Step 6
Fill buns with burgers and peppers.

Note
To prevent the burgers from burning, be sure to grill the burgers on medium heat as directed in recipe.

Variation
Prepare recipe as directed using your outdoor barbecue. Grease the barbecue grates before preheating the barbecue to prevent the burgers from sticking to the grates.
