2 limes, divided

10 sprigs fresh thyme, divided

1/2 cup Kraft Zesty Italian Dressing

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 onion, quartered

How do I make it ?

Step 1
Heat oven to 350ºF.
Step 2
Place chicken, breast side up, in roasting pan sprayed with cooking spray.
Step 3
Squeeze juice from 1 lime into small bowl. Chop 2 thyme sprigs. Add to lime juice along with the dressing and garlic; mix well.
Step 4
Cut remaining lime in half; place in chicken breast cavity along with the onions and remaining thyme.
Step 5
Pour dressing mixture over chicken; sprinkle with pepper.
Step 6
Bake 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 hours or until chicken is done (165ºF).
Step 7
Transfer chicken to platter. Remove and discard ingredients from chicken cavity. Spoon meat juices from pan over chicken.

The easiest way to ensure that cooked meat or poultry is done is to check the internal temperature. Using an accurate food thermometer will take away the guesswork. Simply insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the meat or poultry, avoiding any bones if present. For whole poultry, insert the thermometer into the thickest part of one of the thighs, again taking care to avoid any bones.

Substitute fresh rosemary for the thyme.
